I dont understand the point of this. Is storage really an issue on peoples computers? I understand the mobile app, but why not just store the files locally?

I don't know if this was said, but no dual grpahics cards in SLI/Crossfire mode? Many PeeCee motherboards support it. If the Mac Pro is supposed to be a workstation, why no SLI/Crossfire?
I think I'll wait until MWSF or whenever Apple releases 10.5 and see what's out (and to save up money). I checked to see how much it would cost to buy one w/ the specs I want (bluetooth & Airport, superdrive, GeForce 4500, smallest RAM & hard drive, 30" apple display) and it cost over $7,000. That's almost half a year's pay for me (I work in a public elementary school as their computer geek so the pay's lousy, but still fun).

Apple is anticompetitive and should be shut down. By producing products customers want when others in the industry can't, they are forcing the competition out of business.
If Apple is not shut down, they should be forced to only sell the products designed by RIM and Google, while Google and Rim can build any Apple product they want. Apple also needs to be forced to fire their QC department. While they are at it, they might want to replace their marketing department with a bunch of rabid chimps. They might also be forced to purchase advertising for RIM.
Apples cash reserves also give them an unfair advantage. Perhaps they should give half their money to RIM. Perhaps Apple should design and build the products and sell them, however, RIM and Google would get the money.

AMD is currently a bang for buck chip maker, I doubt you'll see them CPUs in Apple products. Plus until Fusion develops some more the thermal envelope isn't too good.
Yep. That's the truth :(

I just bought the iPhone 4 and to be honest, I don't even feel an ounce of disappointment that I could've waited a 5 months for the iPhone 5. I am so thrilled with the iPhone 4 and its capabilities. I've never run into any issues with the external antennae.. I dunnno. I'm a long time diehard apple fan.
Sorry if this seemed a bit irrelevant, just wanted to throw my two cents in.
From what I'm seeing about the iPhone 5 hear, it's really the iPhone 4S ("S" for speed). If my phone can continue to run forthcoming iOS releases well, I don't see myself upgrading until a 64 GB version appears.

Well, I bought my iMac Core Duo this Wednesday. Yes, AFTER Tuesday. I kinda needed it since I've waited since June for a new Mac. I'd be computerless otherwise. No worries, my boss wants first dibs on buying it off of me next year. :D

You missed my entire point - Apple can't put off updates just because "sales are strong." The "other guys" (Dell, HP, Sony, etc.) upgrade to new technology as soon as they can ramp up production, and Apple won't be, and can't be, "late to the dance" with technology that they all have simultaneous access to. Particularly CPU's. Graphics chips .... well, there they may fudge a bit, especially with 2 brands to select from, but not processor upgrades.
There's no way we'll wait until "November/December," unless Intel fails to deliver Merom, as predicted. If any laptops have Merom sooner, so will Apple.

I think you have a reluctance to find some common ground, as was suggested in my previous post.
I said November.
You said September Maybe.
Which leaves August unlikely, and December pushing it.
However I will stand by my original post, that if I was planning to upgrade to a MBP Merom, I would be prepared to wait until December. As most experts have predicted a switch before the new year.
Otherwise I think everyone understands both schools of thought here, which have already been suggested numerous times in previous post.
Although, I think Apple will hurt themselves more in the long run if they announce an update and cant meet demand.

Without even getting into new things, they could just do it well. Cell phones have interfaces like goats. Every single one of them.

I'm klnd of scared to ask how you interface with a goat Dave. I didn't know they allowed that kind of stuff in Canada.

That's a Fujitsu ST-5000 series device with a Mac OS X screenshot on top:
http://store.shopfujitsu.com/fpc/Ecommerce/buildseriesbean.do?series=ST5100&ptype=TB
I owned one, and they're great tablets. Would love to be off of Windows totally and have a Mac tablet, but there are two important things still holding me on a tablet: handwriting recognition (actually, storing my notes in Ink which is indexed in text) and speech recognition (iListen isn't as good as Dragon Naturally Speaking... even David Pogue who loves Macs has a PC specifically for speech recognition).
Still, if Apple comes out with a tablet, I'd get one.

They're acting on bad info.

It was probably part of Intel's/Apple's bargaining chip that Apple gets quick shipments of chips I assume. Not priority over Dell, Lenovo, HP, Toshiba but maybe sufficient quantities?

If you're posting on Macrumors you have enough bandwidth to get it, just may have to wait a few minutes.
Thanks for alerting me to this. I had no idea that Macrumors took up GBs of my bandwidth cap. :p

I've always thought virii has to be engineered under contract by companies making the "solutions" to them, there are far too many virii out there on a daily basis, to such an extent that it has to be developed on a full-time basis with some corporate involvement somewhere. There are a lot more things to do for kicks these days, other than write malware, you'd think people have better things to do, unless there is money in making them.
Take what you want from here (http://www.exploit-db.com/) and build your malware with this (http://www.metasploit.com/). Malware writers use the same software as security researchers.
It is actually pretty easy to do using sources for already known exploits; finding new exploits is the difficult part. Some of the exploits in an exploit database may not be patched. Others may be patched for up to date systems but are meant for those not getting updates (for example, because running pirated version of an OS).

I can see the crafty photoshop composites now...a keypad from this funky german gadget, a display from an old star trek episode, a set of floating M&Ms stylized as hot buttons...
there we go!

I dont think its going to be though the App Store. The only reason its thought he app store now is the minimise abuse.
Anyway, what happens if you whole hard drive dies?
What if you want to reinstall everything from scratch?
There is just too many what ifs
I think the should use USB flash drives rather then DVDs IF the flash drives are faster then the DVD
The app store is for apps and not for a whole OS
They're probably make it that if your hard drive dies, you need to go to the Apple store and have them do it. If you don't have Apple care, or if ran out, lol enjoy their high prices.
Seriously, it would suck if they didn't allow you to burn your own copy to a disk. Even Microsoft allows you to do that if you buy Windows online as a digital download. They allow you to actually backup all your media from them to an external drive / disk, including Office. They recommend it.
If they wont allow us to burn a copy, I will be ordering a physical disk copy off of Amazon.
